Telematika Corporation the national award "Priority: Digital – 2025" for "Free flow" system

Telematika Corporation won the national prize in the field of digital technologies “Priority: Digital – 2025” in the category “Artificial Intelligence” for creating the free-flow tolling system Free Flow. This innovative technology ensures comfortable travel on toll roads without requiring stopping to pay tolls thanks to its advanced AI-powered vehicle identification technology. As a result, travel times are reduced, traffic uniformity is significantly improved, emissions are reduced, and the risk of accidents lowers.

The winners were awarded their prizes on June 25 in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. Having reviewed more than two hundred applications, the expert panel chose the projects that were named the best in the IT industry. Nikolai Beliy, Deputy General Director of SoftTelematika (part of Telematika Corporation) received the award on behalf of all of the Telematika Corporation teams that participated in the creation and implementation of the technology.

The innovative free-flow tolling system Free Flow was the first to be developed in Russia by Telematika Corporation using modern domestic technologies. Using computer vision algorithms, the IT solution can discern more than 80 vehicle brands and 1,000 models. The system software is a 100% domestically developed product created by Telematika Corporation and is included in the Domestic Software Registry. Also, the Free Flow hardware and software complex has been included in the Register of Russian Equipment of the State Industry Information System (GISP).

Free Flow has already been implemented on the largest highways in Russia, including the Central Ring Road (CRR) in Moscow Oblast, the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MHD), the M-12 Vostok Highway, the Voznesensky Highway in Kazan, the Alekseevskoye – Almetyevsk Highway in Tatarstan, the A-289 Highway in Krasnodar Kray, and others.

The joint research of Telematika Corporation and Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University (MADI) demonstrated that Free Flow not only speeds up traffic, but it also reduces the likelihood of accidents, because drivers do not need to reduce speed or change lanes at toll booths, which significantly reduces the risk of accidents. The average travel time at these points is 6 times less, and the speed is 3.5 times higher than on toll roads with toll gates. Additionally, thanks to uninterrupted traffic, harmful emissions on roads equipped with Free Flow are 100 times lower when compared to roads with traditional toll booths.

The national award “Priority: Digital” has been awarded since 2015 for achievements in the field of developing and implementing leading domestic technologies in various industries. Its winners include companies that have demonstrated the greatest achievements in improving the competitiveness of domestic products, technological production modernization, and its effectiveness in practice.
