Tolling systems
Toll roads provide funding for new roads and transportation infrastructure, revamping of existing highways, high-quality road maintenance, and return on investment for private investors. They help redistribute and alleviate increasing traffic loads on existing roads.
Implementing intelligent toll collection systems is a successful solution for traffic management, positively impacting emissions reduction and environmental protection. It also contributes to the development of roadside infrastructure and services, fostering regional economic growth through job creation.
Telematika has developed a Universal Digital Tolling Platform that integrates the three existing types of toll collection systems for highways.

Our fully domestically developed toll gate system hardware and software suite utilizes a classic “open and closed” system approach. This system can take payments at tolling points using any form of payment, such as cash, credit cards, and DSRC-transponders in express lanes, and includes the installation of boom gates at toll booths.
Telematika’s toll gate system is used on the following highways:

Free Flow is a toll gate-free system that ensures seamless travel on toll roads without stops, thanks to its advanced AI-powered vehicle identification technology.
Uninterrupted traffic without slowing down enables obtaining up to 50% savings in relation to the time en route, reduces freight traffic expenses and the risk of accidents, and improves the environmental condition owing to the reduction of traffic jams and the steady movement of traffic.
Free Flow is supported by the following equipment installed on the gantries:
- An overview camera records that the vehicle has passed through
- A dedicated camera recognizes front and rear license plates
- A laser scanner determines the dimension of the passing vehicle
- An axle-counting camera determines the vehicle's class and axle count for accurate toll calculation
- DSRC antenna reads information from the transponder

This technology utilizes high-precision data from onboard devices installed in vehicles to enable continuous, distance-based tolling.
Telematika developed the world's largest national satellite-based tolling system, designed to offset damage caused to federal highways by vehicles exceeding 12 tons.
